The Ballad of the Winds is a work born from the desire to represent a workshop scene during the process of creation: the moment when ideas and images bloom, the concentration of the artist. Created during lockdown, the work goes beyond the walls of this workshop to allow air, birds and wind to come and ruffle the printed pages. Against a background of storm-filled sky or underwater seascape, an almost transparent model poses in front of the observing artist, whose gaze pierces the décor. Cupid, who has exchanged his bow for a pail full of dice, protects the bedrooms and leaves room for games and for chance, while along the corridors, a flock of birds straddled by tiny people glory in their freedom.
