Floors 7 to 9 feature the continuation of the voyage that Alexandre & Florentine Lamarche-Ovize embarked on in the lobby of the Drawing House. The clouds on the wallpaper in the corridors conjure up a flight – the take-off, then rising through the air - while the carpet returns us to earth and to the homage to Josephine Baker lower in the building. Élisée, a geography (Colombia) tips the hat to the celebrated 19th-century explorer Élisée Reclus, who travelled all over the world in order to describe, draw and discover nature as it appeared in other places. In this wild and exotic forest, under a night sky, clouds and vegetation come to life and begin a silent dance. This work is a postcard from a distant land – a waking dream.
